Nothing much happened yesterday. Everyone was lethargic because it was the beginning of the 3rd week.
The talent show was fun. There were a lot of music things, so Kristen [Herndom HS] and I played team-Solitare. But some of the acts were really funny [they were mostly Gov School "inside" jokes, like all of the "YOU HAVE TO WEAR YOUR BUTTONS AND SHOES!" things. And, of course, jokes about the food].
I wish they wouldn't kick people out of Modlin at 10:15. It doesn't take 15 minutes to get back to Lora Robins...
Everyone was a bit more awake today. We played some Renaissance music [for 2 tpts and 3 tbns-- the horns were gone for orchestra practice, and I played 3rd tbn] and more of our "Popular Suite" [it has Blues, Boogie, Mambo, and... something else].
People are starting to get really excited about King's Dominion. We're gonna show Deniz the joy of roller coasters, and maybe I can find some people to do that giant swing thing [it's not bad if I can't find anyone, since we can just go on it on Labor Day].
Good news: we don't have to wear our buttons in the park!
Bad news: we have to wear them on the BUS to the park, so we have to "put them on the inside of our pocket or something." Which isn't very fun.
I keep mixing up Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion [I almost asked someone what their favorite roller coaster there was, but then I realized my response, "Apollo's Chariot," wasn't in Kings Dominion. ^^;]
Our Course 2 presentation is today. I don't know WHAT we're doing, but I'm apparently supposed to be doing something. I'm SO glad that it's not graded...
And more dance. Of course. At least we've been doing Jazz dance, which is far more interesting/manageable than the others. And we get to listen to "The Girl from Ipanema" every day. =D
Today's exploration is supposed to be the mind-bending philosophical ideas of some guy named Derrida. I hope it's as interesting as people have said it is...
